Million Meal Movement is proud to introduce you to the newest member of our Board, Andy Ackerman. Andy is a tax partner with MCM CPAs & Advisors LLP . Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he moved to Indianapolis 3 years ago with his wife and 4 kids. He loves serving the Lord, spending time with his family, and traveling to the beach. One thing most people don’t know about him is that he enjoys riding a Harley! We spent some time getting to know Andy a little better – we hope you enjoy our Q&A session.
What does Million Meal Movement mean to you?
Million Meal Movement provides me an opportunity to tangibly see how I can make a difference. I know the meals that we pack will provide a nourishing meal for a hungry child. We all generally take our next meal for granted. I realize the impact MMM can have on our community. After participating in my first pack, I saw not only the tangible results, but the intangible results. People are excited and have a feeling of accomplishment. Everyone should try it at least once ~ you’ll be hooked!
How do you fit giving back into your life?
Giving is a big part of my life. God has called us to be good stewards of the resources He’s given us. I want to help bless others as I have been blessed.
What’s your favorite inspirational/motivational quote?
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plan I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
What drew you to join the Million Meal Movement board?
I had been looking for the right organization to get involved with for over a year. I’ve always had a passion for helping kids. I wanted to be able to use my skills as an accountant to help a group that did just that. Meeting Dan and Nancy, the other Board members, and the MMM team and learning about their passion for helping others allowed me see I could make this happen. I’m super excited to be a part of this amazing team!
We’re excited to have Andy as a part our team! Please join us in giving him a warm welcome to Million Meal Movement.
